Building works at Carn Gwaval wellbeing centre

Children’s Services are excited to announce that following the award of government funding to support the delivery of the extended offer for 3 and 4 year olds we have started the refurbishment and extension of the early years provision at the Carn Gwaval Wellbeing Centre.

This work will provide a dedicated space for early years professionals, future nursery providers and child-minders to deliver early years services to families with young children, and complete our relocation from Carn Thomas.

We are aiming for the works to be completed by Christmas and in the meantime would request that traffic to and from the Carn Gwaval Wellbeing Centre and Five Islands School via Carn Gwaval hill is kept to a minimum.

In the interest of site safety we have asked that the building contractors schedule their deliveries away from peak traffic times, and would also ask that parents and staff use the Nowhere car-park entrance to the school as much as possible.

These works provide a great opportunity to develop the Wellbeing campus to serve children and families of all ages and we’re looking forward to welcoming families to the new resource after Christmas!

Thank you,
